Does anyone know the dimension that is set when using service tool # A96218to checkk valve stem height after seat reconditioning. Tool is mentioned in the Fiat 124 Spider Shop Manual?

i will look monday in my shop manual, but i have never had an issue with stem height, you would have to seriously cut the seat for the valve to be so fan inset that there would be a problem. you can also remove material from the valve stem too, for shim service range. but i prefer to use thinnest shims i can to reduce valve train weight. you can also shim the springs to get the height and seat pressure you want.

Thanks beek. Reason for the question was that the shop that is installing new oversized valves asked the question. This shop will be doing some porting and comb chamber rework once I decide on what pistons and cams will be going into my 2L FI engine.Look forward to your post.?
