I know this is a long shot, but maybe someone out there has some information or can help me find a car I owned in 1973, 74.
In 1973 I bought a used 1970 to 72 Fiat 124 Spider in Fullerton, California It was the first car that I ever owned and I think I was the 2nd owner of the car. It was red with black interior and was absolutely my favorite most enjoyable handling car I have ever owned. I was recently thinking about getting another 124 Spider or possibly finding the original – probably a long shot, because I no longer have the VIN or even the old license number. Does anybody have any ideas about retrieving records from that period to locate a previously owned car or have any information that can lead to any information about this car. Itâ€s nice to see others that appreciate and enjoy these cars as much as I did. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Manfred Nagel
Finding 124 Spider
Try contacting the BMV in the state where you sold the car, they may have a record that shows you transfered title to who ever. Even if they won't tell you who owns it, they may give you the VIN. Then post the VIN or try like a Vehices.com place and try to trace it.
If they won't do that ask them for a record of cars you owned and there information. I imagine just like a credit report, they keep records of cars owned.
