How to achieve this sound on a spider?

I watched this video and fell in love with the sound. I asked the owner what he had done to make it sound the way it did, and he said it was a 1600cc engine, with weber double body? carburetor, with only the muffler changed(taken from an audi?). Does this seem right? He didn't write very good english so I could tell he was having a hard time explaining. Every other video I've seen of spiders have sounded, well to me, rather dull and alot worse than the other cars I am considering. But that video convinced me, if I can get that sound, I would be sold on the spider. Does anyone know what makes that sound, and why his sounds so different? Thanks!

that would be a easy sound to make, find a old muffler with no internals, no resonator and no cat, i did hear the duals when they went to the front, you can hear the individual venturi sound, but you are not hearing that thru the exhaust. if a good sound is what you want it can be had with proper exhaust tuning. bigger is better, 2 1/2" pipe with a flow master and a good header will make a great sound.

when i raced my fiats i ran an open 2:1/2" pipe. the car was so loud, the other competitors complained. you could hear my car over all the other cars. it was a great sound, high pitched italian scream. turning near 7500 rpm
