So just curious how many of you have spent time scratching your head or cussing about things your baby's previous owners did to her. I am in the middle of a restomod and keep finding things that amaze me. Today I go to pull The oil pump and I find it has literally been chopped up. I cannot imagine what was going through the head of the person that did this. I guess I will add a new oil pump to the ever growing parts list.

yup, 1.6 or 1.8 oil pump in a 2 litre. seen that in one 132 i had.
now, that was back in the late 90's so i can understand to some extent, we had balkan wars, UN sanctions, hyperinflation... but in US one can get a new pump for what, couple hundred bucks and day or two for shipping?

Kind of like using bottle caps as valve shims, or the car I saw with a fuel line running into the passenger compartment and a water valve so the guy could turn off the fuel. Cars are fun.
