Strange Horn Saga Continues.....

I gotta tell you guys, this horn problem has me baffled so far. Here's the symptom(s) of my '79 Spider: when the car is sitting in the driveway & has not been running recently, the horn works fine. Once on the road for a few minutes, the horn will not work. I took the horn hub off, cleaned it up, but same problem. Checked fuse & relay, but same problem. I haven't test the continuity of the circuit yet. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Don

Did you pull the wheel and take a look at the contact prongs on the hub. When you drive you turn the wheel and put other pressure on the contacts that alter the position. These contacts can wear down over time. It may be that you are not holding or turning the wheel when sitting in driveway.

x2, my issue was just this, the spring prong of the horn button that touched the outer ring only made contact at times. I ended up bending the prong so I had to almost force the complete unit in, haven't had a problem since...
