Egad, Two inches of toe-in

Took the car for a rip after setting the timing, and a few other things so needed a shake-down cruise.

I heard tire squealing at every easy turn, and could almost hear it going straight too.

DId a quick check sidewall to sidewall, and the front of the tires are two inches shorter than the back of the tires !! Its so pigeon -toed it doesn't even coast well.

I used to set up my autocross car with a little toe-out with good results.
Is there a preferred setup for toe-in? EDIT whoops, found a lot via search!

yikes, you'll be scrubbing off some speed with that setting. How did it get like that?

Exactly Mark... I don't see how that could happen on its own.

check the rod that connects tie rod ends, maybe it's loose.

Well this car is a new acquire, only had it two months a few hundred miles on it, still sorting lots of things out things out from the prior owner. That may account for the condition

Kinda like me finding the fuel tank Gazinta and Gazouta reversed, etc.

Front tires are wiped! Lots of scalloping.

Funny, my early impressions were, this car just doesn't like to coast!!

Every time I fix something big or small, it feels like a new car.
Rear Gears, rattel, a squeak, toe in, fuel starvation, headlights, overchsrging, third brake lite, wheel centering...etc.

Starting to be a real pleasure to drive

Maybe the PO installed new control arms, and accidentally reversed them.

Have you ruled out structural failure? Shock towers, crossmember, etc.

Did some more looking while bleeding the brakes..the hardware appears in order
However yes, the some areas of the shock towers look to have been skinned, i think the more concerning issue with the car so far. The upper a-arm mounts look unmolested, but the jury is still out
