Block Type ID Number

My 124 spider engine is an unusual rebuild. The car is a 1969. The head is from a 124AC. I was told that the block came from a later 1608 engine. I'd like to make sure. The number on the block is: 4180231. Where could I find a reference that would tell me this?

Never mind

I read the wrong number. The number near the top of the oil filter canister says: 125BC040, 0647865 so it's a 1608 block. Duh! I'm wondering though. If the compression ratio for the 1438 was 8.9:1 and the 1608 was 9.8:1 what compression should this odd hybrid be?

The CR for the US 1608 was 8.5:1, so likely that is what you have.
