Hi fellows,
I have a 1969 Fiat spider. I put a Lear Jet am-fm 8 track in it when it was new and it worked well.
However, it quit and I purchased an am-fm-cd radio. It's too deep as the hazard switch and lighter keep popping out.
Do you have any suggestions about what is available, even without the cd part?
Thanks,
Fifthkid

Re: Radio
There are some radios out there without CD that are not as deep. You ust have to go to an online catalog like Crutchfield and check the dimensions. Most of them will be able to connect to digital media, so you can still play your own music.

Re: Radio
Yes, cd-free head units! or remote marine is an option.
You may consider, doing away with the head unit altogether! radio doesn't interest me and cd's are a nightmare
So i run my ipod on the console direct to an amp behind the rear seat.
Putting a bank of switches where the radio was Fuel/Ig/Start/Lights/Aux Lights/oil slick
So far coming out good

The AM/FM Radio without a CD player is called a mechless. You can get one as shallow as 4.5 inches. The benefit is playing a larger volume of music from an IPOD or even a USB flash drive. You can even have other people play there music from thier phone or IPOD using an aux input cable. I have one in my car that works great and cost about $50.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
