Colorado Flooding

Hey fellow Colorado Fiat owners! Have you all made it through the flooding okay?

Here in Lafayette/Erie, my house is on a bit of a hill, so we're high and dry and feeling very fortunate. We can see the Boulder Creek valley from our back yard and there is a lot of standing water there. The people living close to northern CO waterways are in a bad way.

We didn't have running water yesterday but it's back on now. Our water company recommends boiling our drinking water before use. I think they've done a heckuva job getting the water supply fixed this quickly, given the state of the infrastructure around here.

With the number of damaged roads and washed out bridges, traveling in this area is going to be a mess for a long time. Some of our twisty mountain roads may not be accessible for months.

Things are a mess right now. I hope you are all well.

Glad to hear you are OK.
We, too, are high and dry at my house. I am at a decent elevation relative to the rest of the city, so we are not experiencing any drama or trauma at all.
It is hard to believe all of the tragedy that is occurring throughout the Colorado Front Range, when life is pretty much normal in my neighborhood except for the unusual amount of rain this past week.
Fort Collins averages only 15" of precipitation every year.
This past week we received about 6" !!
My Spider (and all of my vehicles) is kept in my garage all year and only comes out to play when it is nice outside.
She's been aching to come out and play this past week, but I won't let her get her feet wet!
Hope everyone else is faring OK during all of this mess.

same here .... lots of rain and would not know there is a problem anywhere looking out the front door.... but 15 minutes in the car and you can get to areas that will not be the same for months or longer or ever .... my girls feet have been getting very wet ... i have been out getting up close and personal with damaged areas.... she is actually quite the good little puddle cruiser to my surprise (except that weak defrost) ... to put things in perspective .... local creek runs at 200 cubic feet per second.... 2 days ago .. 4600 cubic feet per second .... those mountain roads i love so much is not a matter of just getting cleared of mud and debris... they are just gone.. not damaged..GONE... big sections of road ... gone .... bridges also have compromised all over the front range....

Howdy all:

Deb and I live in the foothills about five miles out of Lyons. We're high (altitude that is), dry and safe. Most of our community was not as lucky. We were cut-off from anywhere for almost a week. The power was out for six days. Internet access was restored last night. The devastation here is hard to believe. There are entire communities that are isolated except by National Guard helicopters. All roads going up into the mountains from just north of Denver to the Wyoming border are blown out. Absolutely no one expected this.

Glad Jerry, Matt, Dave and Dana are okay. My CO property received 12" of rain but fortunately didn't encounter any flooding.

So glad the Colorado Spiders are all OK. There loss would have been devastating! Oh and glad the owners made it through as well.

Do you think with the communities closed off and lack of power and entertainment Colorado will experience a population spike 9 months from now like we do here in Florida after a hurricane?
