Door Mirror Fogged

Post by bonsaiwino »

'79 Spider......what's the simplest way to replace my fogged door mirror glass? I'm hoping there's a way to replace the glass without buying the whole fixture. Thanks, Don

Mirror glasses are cheap online. Just buy one that's bigger and take it to a glass shop to have it cut down to the same size as yours. Or have the glass shop make one from scratch, but then it won't have the blue tint.
I am talking about a residential glass shop, not automotive.

It's glued on, you can try gently pulling it off. If it does not come you may have to glue the new mirror glass to the old one!
The glass shop can make a new one based on measured dimensions.

Well, just for the heck of it, I hit the mirror with cleaner & steel wool...clean as a whistle!
