My new project

Post by mdrburchette »

I've been working hard at trying to gut out a 72 Spider that has been sitting for 22 years...and by the looks of it, that 22 years has been in the weather. I've had to deal with screws that are so rusted that the heads just disintegrate when a screwdriver touches them and a nest of ants that died a slow death when I squirted pain thinner on them. My goal is to have everything but the drivetrain and suspension off the car by the time Ron comes home on Tuesday. He can help me pull the engine and tranny, then it will be sent to the sandblaster to find out if there's any metal left on the car.

Thought I'd buff a spot to see what the original paint looked like...I didn't have anything better to do! :?

What a big mess I've made!

Denise.. you have waaaaaay to much time on your hands. :D
Wish my wife was as handy as you... she helps me and is technically inclined but not at this level... you are one of a kind.
Can't wait to see what you do to this one, but I'm sure it'll look great!

That X is still being punished although I'll probably soon be driving it until the engine blows. It gets 45 mpg! Ron says I can only do one Fiat project at a time and the racecar was next in line. The X is after that and it'll take a good amount of time and money to get it looking and running decent.

Denise, you better get that living room cleaned up before Ron gets home. And put all your toys away

Damn, you don't think Ron will wonder where the couch is, do you? I thought about making Fiat swivel rockers...what do you think?

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. I muddle through putting things together, but I can rock when it comes to tearing things apart.

as long as he can watch tv from the back seat I think he'll be okay with it. You can use the center console for a coffee table

Bad idea, Mark. Shenanigans would ensue from the back seat, and we need Denise sharp to answer our questions!

Don't remember that one ... but a similar theme in the episode "The Bet" (?) is one of my favorites.
