My Wife doesn't drive, never has and believe me never will. Over the last 30 years I have tried to get her to drive. But no. It is apparently easier to tell me how to drive than it is to learn how to. LOL
ermmm... yes a red fire extinguisher. which funnily enough is now rattling around behind the drivers seat. I looked last night but simply cant find a place to put it. So it may be the trunk, until the roll bar is in.
Where do you have your fire extinguisher?

Re: Where do you have your fire extinguisher?
Here is mine...
I bought it as one of my gas lines came out of the engine bay fitting, I fixed the issue, however that day in the middle of the highway pushing this loose hose back in place with the hot engine dripping gasoline... I did not want to see my car burn in front of my eyes.

Passenger side up against the seat...halfway concealed (it's a small one).
Should NEVER travel without one.
Ask ANY fireman.

Trunk...
If you have one, likely won't need it on your car, but nice to have if you have a chance to be a good Samaritan for another whose car is about to go up in flames.
Fully involved...stand back, lots of toxic smoke and gas charged struts that become projectiles when heated same with grease cups. (19 year POC fire guy)

Re: Where do you have your fire extinguisher?
Minimum class "A-B" but ABC gives you an energized electrical category as well.RRoller123 wrote:What is the best type of fire extinguisher to carry in a car?
I don't believe the Spiders have any magnesium on it so class "D" I don't think is necessary.
I have a 5 pound but 2 1/2 lb will knock a small fire down pretty good.

Re: Where do you have your fire extinguisher?
I carry a 2.5# Halon fire extinguisher in my car. Halon 1211(or the newer Halotron) works exceptionally well on electrical and gas fires. It is twice as expensive as dry chemical but is by far more effective and will not leave a residue when discharged. I keep mine just behind the driver's seat.

Re: Where do you have your fire extinguisher?
I like that no-residue idea. We used to have halon protected computer rooms back in the day. I am not sure that they even have "computer rooms" anymore. <{:^)
