You are talking about the same thing. I believe the part of the "trans" that the spring washer contacts is the input shaft bearing next to 4th gear.

OK, Here is the latest up date. My mechanic and I dropped the bottom plate on the trans. After careful examination found no damage to any gears and a minimal of a very few small particles on the drain plug magnet. I Had spoken to Mat from Vickautosports, not who I bought the trans from, earlier in the week. My mechanic called up Vickautosports and spoke to another person there. After speaking to his mechanic, who works on Ferraris and the fiats and telling them that there was no visible damage anywhere Vick's mechanic came to a conclusion that 3rd gear might have been newly replaced and since the trans was a rebuilt with old gears still there the new gear was not meshing as the old gear would have and hence the sound I was hearing was the new one breaking in to the wear of the old gears. He said that the noise I hear will probably go away after a while. We shall see. But for now everything seams fine. Thanks all who responded and to Vickautosports for helping me out.
