Windshield Trim, Window trim
Windshield Trim, Window trim
Does anyone know where i can get replacement trim for the windows and windshield? Or is there a process to polish them back to chrome like shine? I am getting down to the last of the exterior projects and when I go to car shows the judges always comment on these parts.

The windshield frame itself is chromed. If pitted or really worn, it would need to be re-chromed. Cost me about $200 to get mine re-chromed. The strips that go into the windshield gasket and the door trim are stainless steel and can be polished. You can do this yourself with just "elbow" grease. There are a number of good metal polishing products out there - I am a fan of Never Dull batting, Wenol Red for stainless and Wenol Blue for chrome. Meguiars Metal polish and Mother's metal polish both do a decent job on items that aren't too oxidized. You can also get polishing tools like Dremel polishing tips or "buffing balls" designed to go on a cordless drill - Fitz makes really good ones, Mother's makes decent foam ones - these will make the job easier than just using muscle power.
To get great results - especially show quality, you really need a buffing wheel and multiple polishing compounds (plus experience in how to polish items like these without bending/warping them). You should be able to find a metal refinishing or metal polishing shop locally that can handle the job for you. Just google metal polishing.

So the lower strip at the bottom of the windshield is stainless?

All of those pieces are stainless and will polish up.
Chrome: windshield frame, windshield latches, top boot "hooks", door handles, headlight trim rings, turn signal & side marker housings(chromed plastic), side rear view mirror(s), bumpers
Stainless: door trim, trim below top quarter window, trim around front grill, windshield trim strips that fit into windshield gasket, rocker panel trim strips, side sill cover plates
I'm pretty sure that's a complete trim list.
