Are you missing the mirror or is it just foggy? The mirror can be disassembled and cleaned. The outer ring is just pressed in place and comes of quite easily. You can then clean everything or even replace the mirror and or glass if you want and reinstall. It is an easy repair and cheap.

Thanks very much, spider nut. The mirror's just foggy, so I'll try to take it apart & clean it.

not quite so simple. The day/night tab just pushed a flexible piece of plastic that is often old, brittle, and on the brink of failure. The mirror is also very thin (1/16"). The thinnest mirror i can find is 1/8" and that is too fat to work. I have 4 old mirrors and ended up buying a new one.

my interior mirror won't stay in position and the tab that switches from day/night mode isn't working. i took the mirror apart and the tab inside is broken. also, there are interior pieces/spacers missing. is there any fix for this other than getting a new mirror?

Silicone glue might work. The day/night mirror tab is very poorly designed. You might have to just use a little silicone to hold it all in place.
