stalling when brakes applied!
stalling when brakes applied!
Hi. I have a 1978 Fiat Spider 2000 fuel injected. My problem is the engine stalls when the brakes are applied. I'm guessing a vacuum leak somewhere? Can anyone help me with this and how to troubleshoot? Thanks

Re: stalling when brakes applied!
You can test the booster and hose by blocking the intake port and seeing if it dies when hitting the brakes.

Re: stalling when brakes applied!
if you notice a change in engine speed with the brakes applied, the problem has to be the booster. Any other vacuum leak would be prevalent all of the time, not just when the brakes are applied.
BTW, 1978 models were originally carbed. Has yours been converted to FI or are you unsure about the year?

Electrical gremlins - shared earth (ground) between fuel pump and brake lights? (I thought I had heard of a similar problem before but with turn signals and the fuel pump.)
