I am trying to make my engine sit a little lower.
I heard Volvo motor mounts are thinner than Fiats.
I have a question - how much thinner are they and what is the Volvo part number or year and model ?
The thinner - the better.
Thanx in advance.
How low can you go ?

Re: How low can you go ?
Hi!
I think the 124 engine mount is about 48mm high same as the Volvo 240 is give and take some mm,
The Volvo 140:s engine mount is if I remember 39-40mm high,if needs it can be schimmed to the wanted height.
I think there are vendors in USA who has them for sale,if not give me an email and I can get some the next time I go and shop parts.
Regards Alf

Re: How low can you go ?
before you lower the engine, measure the gap between the crossmember and oil pan

last time i checked, there was about 15-20mm gap between crossmember and oil pan. guess you could go 10mm lower

I looked in several places and they all give the same part number for 240 and 140 .131lover wrote:Hi!

Re: How low can you go ?
The first Volvo 240 and the late 140 had a few models with the same engines, but they had a huge variety of engines in the 240 from -76 to -89 when the 240 was pulled of the pruduction.
I dont know the numbers of the engine mounts i just measured the ones found in the store for 240 and 140,the 140 was 40mm high.

I visited 5 different stores - nobody keeps them in stock anymore.
And I just dont want to order any without measuring them.
I got another advice - Mazda RX-3 the mounts are 30-35mm
