Post by btoran »

sorry to keep bombarding you guys and gals with questions, but here goes.....

what repair manuals are you using to help maintain your cars? i've found various ones ranging in price from $10 (pdf only) to $60 (at IAP) and some in between.

The bad news is that they all are good at some things and suck at others, so we generally buy all of them and use whichever one is best at the topic at hand.

I think the one I thumb through the most is the Brooklands repair manual. When it comes to understanding something major with respect to engine rebuild I refer to the Guy Croft workshop manual. The Guy Croft manual is pricey but the level of detail with repect to Fiat/Lancia twin cam engines has proven very useful. For electricals, I would recommend getting the wiring diagram for your year. Nothing short of having the actual wiring diagram will really do the trick. I think you can still download this for free if you can find Brad Artigue's web page. You can download a tansmission manual as well. I don't recall where I did that a few years back for free. There always seems to be little nuances between what you are looking at on/in your car and what the manual has to say. Because of the nuances, the forum with explanations of what people have encountered doing a repair or modification has been the most beneficial of all. In short, i don't think you will be satisfied with one stop shopping for a manual with respect to these cars. Even the owners manual from the factory is inconsistent with repsect to year and information provided.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
