O.K., just wishful thinking....but I was fantasizing about what I'd want done to my Spider if Chip Foose got a hold of it for the show. Because I live in the People's Republic of California, I'd have to go with a retrofit drive train if I wanted anything other than bone stock, so I'd pick:
- V6 modern fuel injected motor
- Dual exhaust
- 15 gal gas tank
- Lowered
- Bumpers removed and associated body mods
- Shaved door handles with electronic door locks
- Complete custom interior with center arm rest
- An emergency brake that will actually hold the car on a hill
- Air conditioning
- GPS/DVD/MP3 built in
- Cup holder
- Luggage rack removed
- Conversion of hood and trunk props to hydraulic pistons
- Custom taillights
- Custom speaker enclosure in rear seat with storage
- Custom variable spring performance suspension
- Extra large rotors, slotted with dual pistons
- Aluminum radiator
- Polished and re-chromed everything
- 6 speed transmission
- HD lights
- LED interior lighting
- Sound proofed (Dynamat)
- Power windows that work fast!
- Keyless ignition
- Custom paint
- Custom mirrors color keyed to the body color
Now if I can just get someone to nominate me! O.K. people...nominate me!!!

Re: Fiat on Overhaulin'
get in line! LOL
i don't think you will ever see a spider on Overhaulin because the show is partly sponsored by the parts suppliers. i don't think the assorted Fiat parts suppliers have the corporate sized budgets to sponsor a build.
the closest i have ever seen was a VW build.
i would love to have my spider "foosed"!

Re: Fiat on Overhaulin'
I'm not in awe of Foose, I expect he'd ruin the natural lines of the Spider, bag it and put 22" wheels on it

if you need a cup holder in a 124 that just means you're not driving it as you should81SPIDERMATT wrote:mmmmmmmmmmmm cup holder

Re: Fiat on Overhaulin'
Mark, what does "bag it" mean? I am an east coast guy, haven't heard this term applied to cars here... I agree somewhat with you about these mod tv shows. If they ever took a car of mine and modified it without my prior permission, I would be so pissed I would sue them. I do everything (as much as possible anyway) on my car myself and am proud of it and want to keep it that way. Working on this little car over the years is therapy for me, and if I wanted a beautiful showpiece I would just go buy one.

Re: Fiat on Overhaulin'
Actually, if you're driving it as you should you need the gyroscopically stabilized 3 axis of rotation cup holder.if you need a cup holder in a 124 that just means you're not driving it as you should

They would just ruin it - like they ruined the Lotus Europa.

"bag it" means to replace the springs with air bags, so you can slam it to the ground, usually when parked
