Hole size of Dash Dials

Post by LunaticTaskbar »

Hi all and a very good morning.

I have a new GPS speedo winging its way from Andytach.com now the item I have ordered is 52mm. I ordered it so I can see the speedo in kph and not the MPH as it currently shows.

Now to my question. As the clock has bad glaucoma, my devious mind is considering the following:
Removing the non working clock. Moving the oil gage to the location of the clock. and mounting the new shiney GPS speedo front and center in the spot previously occupied by the oil gauge.

So before the dash is removed does anyone know the diameter of the holes in question? Will the oil gauge slip direct into the clock location, and will a 52mm add in slide into the location of the Oil pressure?

Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Have a great day one and all and safe driving. 8)

Palo Alto Speedometer can fix up the clock perfectly, reasonable price.

All of the "small" Spider instruments use the same diameter hole, 2-1/16" or 52mm. They're all also mostly the same depth. My only concern would be the depth of your aftermarket gage, and whether or not it will interfere with solid surfaces behind the panel.

You might also want to rethink the position of the oil pressure gage. Fiat put it dead-center for a reason. Our cars don't have a factory fuel or ignition shut-off in the case of oil pressure failure. You're never gonna see that little red warning lamp if you relocate the oil gage down to the corner.

Also thanks for the heads up on that one as well I will need to check it more closely.

Thank you.

Just looking at your car in your avitar, does it drive any different with no bumpers on?

I am leaning towards that look. Will need to find a way to illuminate the rear licence plate.
