payback
Re: payback
Thanks for that one.
My sister, who's a car guy, was driving on a residential street in her Fiat 500 last week. 25 - 30 MPH speed limit. Up ahead she sees that she's not going to make the light so she begins to slow down. Guy in the Hummer behind her isn't happy, all over her tail. As she stops at the red light he swings out left, passes her in the opposing lane and blows through the red light.
He never saw the police car sitting at the intersection.
As she passed him pulled over in front of the squad car she waved.

Re: payback
I wish my brain responded to stupidity that way. I tend to just let it go, but may take a lesson or two from this guy!
Re: payback
I kind of think they were both jerks, didn't notice a signal from either one of them additionally they both drove like idiots and could have hurt someone. That being said that was really funny! I usually just ask the jerk to roll down his window and when he thinks we are going to cuss at each other I turn on my winshield washers and splash him that way. It usally works pretty well and no one seems to be able to get their window back up in time to stop a few good sprays of blue windshield fluid from coming in. See it's the simple things in life that make us happy....

I'm with you on that one Craig. I even commented this to the wife last night as we drove to town. Complete lack of courtesy in my opinion.ga.spyder wrote:No turn signals...my pet peeve!!!!

Re: payback
A few years ago, my job included Tucson as a sales territory and i made the trek from Phoenix once a week. Coming home was always challenging on a heavily packed 2 lane freeway at 75 mph. I witness this same scenario in front of me. Guy in the right lane trying to get to the left. SUV in left lane sped up so he couldnt get in. this repeated itself several times. the guy in the right lane saw the opportunity to sneak a couple of car up and pulled into the left lane, forcing everyone behind him to hit the brakes. Since the SUV was following so close, had to slam on his poorly maintained brakes and eventually ended up upside down in the median. In the meantime, i backed off several car lengths to buys myself some wiggle room for the eventuality. I believe in dancing with my fellow road rats rather than fighting. Is the loss of one car length worth the risk. Also, i feel the most dangerous part of any drive is red lights.

Re: payback
The driver could have fallen in BEHIND the other vehicle instead of forcing their way IN FRONT of the vehicle. I call these people "in-front-ees". They insist on being in front of everyone else. Either or both were at fault, but the actions of the SUV were classic.

I quite agree. But then I know right of way doesn't attach to the larger vehicle, nor simply because "I want to be over there"...
The baseless presumption and reckless spitefulness of the SUV are typical.

Re: payback
Its funny, having grown up and lived most of my life in the gridlock that is South Florida I was in a constant state of rage.People cutting you off, speeding up so you cant get in,flipping you off,etc... I now live in rural Ga.People wave on the road, always stop to let you out onto a road, pull over for funerals. Its amazing how tempers flare when traffic builds.I occasionally go to Atlanta and all the old feelings return

Re: payback
my other vehicle is a 76 scout .... lifted and big beefed up bumpers and my bumper sticker reads........ " right of way = mass/value " and though i am not an aggressive driver i sure notice people will make room for the scout a lot more than the fiat ... and as for the original post..... hilarious ...
and ditto on the dancing... much more fun

Re: payback
Craig it's only gotten worse! I drove back from the keys last week obviously through Miami and Ft Lauderdale and most drivers are still out for blood, there are just more lanes full of them now. Definitely not Fiat friendly.
