I want to say that it was not the control arms that I bought, I jumped the Conclusion on the make of vicks control arms,
Made a mistake on my part, control arms are not after market, they are Italy source
I just want to apologize on my behalf on jumping the conclusions of things, seems it maybe the shock tower, but that's not a 100 percent sure either,

I would be concerned about that WAY negative caster angle and check my upper arm installation L to R. Is the car hard to drive in a straight line? Caster should be positive like the specs on your sheet.

I ordered new control arms for the 79 ,people think it possible that there a driverside upper on the passenger side, so I just ordered a lower and upper

Lol, it all good, I hope it helps too. I looked back and I only replace the lower on on the passenger side, so hopefully the upper is wrong

i"m dealing with the same issue. I pulled the suspension off the car, so i could have the a-arms on the wrong side. I dont have any pictures to verify. I have mine so the bulge in the upper a-arm are toward the front of the car. When I go to Vick's, their pix show the same. when I go to Auto Ricambi, they have the bulge going to the back. I looked in my many Fiat manuals and found a couple of pictures with the bulge to the front. So whats right.

I went out and checked both my cars. Both have the bulge to the front. I've not changed either suspension, they came from different owners and both have been allegedly aligned at different alignment shops.

I'd call Autoricambi - they might just have the wrong picture associated with each arm (easy mistake to make). I'd also trust their opinion over mine any day.

out of curiosity, I layed out the suspension on my cad program and lowered the suspension 1". that decambered the car by adding .0423" to the bottom a-arm. In otherwords. That adds .28 degrees decamber. my books show a tolerance of .67 degrees.

new passenger sideImage

well i have solved my problem, seems to me both driver side and passenger ,the bulge in on the rear side.
new part shows me that it would be in the front, i can see now that the upper need to be swapped around. then the bulge will be facing the front of the car
i think it will align great after this

bobplyler wrote:I just did some checking. From very rough measurements, if you put the left arm on the right side, and right arm on the left side, it will make the caster off by about 11 degrees. (arctan(2/10). On your sheet, it shows this being off about this amount. Also, with this amount of negative caster, it will be very hard to drive (no self-centering). This would also affect the camber.
thanks , i belive this is what happen, needs to be swapped
