Sex and the Fiat Spider

Post by dzyfngrs »

I hope forum members won't mind my musings too much. I'm sure many of them share the same experiences. Other owners have asked to me to share this - so here goes. If you know where I'm coming from or share the same experiences, let us all know. I sure you'll get a chuckle out of this...
Enjoy,
Frank

My first thought was to have my wife read it. Maybe then she would understand why I put so much money into the spider. But then on second thought maybe having her read it is not such a good idea. This could be bad. Very bad.

 I had to share it with the wife... had to...

I know that I don't have the credibility from a literature background to say this, but your writing is amazing!

To be able to put in words the love, attraction, lust, anger, passion, joy, and care we give that special car, like you have just done in that story, just priceless.

So glad to see that I am not the only one to see the shape of a beautiful woman in our cars... Just an ageless Sophia ( or Valentina ;) ) . Now I don't feel so dirty caressing the beauty in my garage... even with all her wrinkles.

Great read , even brought a tear to my eye... wouldn't dream of letting my wife read it as she she thinks I'm as obsessed with this forum as my car.

Thanks for sharing
Cheers

Time for a cold shower.
Then I will tell my wife and my car that I love them both.

That was well written and captures my own feelings about these quirky, fun little cars. You'll never see anything like that written about a Chevy or a Ford or even a BMW or Mercedes Benz. I really do feel like my car (her name is Carlita, which of course means, "Little Car") has a personality and she likes me... most of the time. She does not seem to like wearing two "earrings" though (vent window latches). I have reglued the right side latch at least a half dozen times with JB Weld. It holds for a few days then she throws it into the passenger seat for me to find. I smile and say, "Yes, dear," and save the latch to clean and reglue later. I even put a thin spacer under the latch last time to reduce the strain on it when latched but same result.

She is a great little car though. That's why her license plate reads simply, "THMSTRSS."

Thanks for your replies. MrWampus, yours especially. There's an epoxy that Mark sells that did the trick for me and Valentina's side window latches. Cheers,
