Dam people

Post by fiat218 »

I was at a eating place at a golf course,
I parked away from every one ,but oh no , some one backed into my 1980. Square in the middle of the truck lid,not a big dent but a 3x3 square, you would think a decent person would have left a number ,
But nope

Sorry to hear about the damage. It is not helped by the fact it is on a bend in the trunk lid. Typically a dent this size can be pulled out by a good paintless dent removal person unless it is on a seam or ridge line. This guy also took some paint making it a convetional repair.

We would all be better off if people would own up to thier mistakes. Do you think there is an outside chance the golf club would have cameras in the lot so you could identify who backed into your car?

I hope you find out who did it. If you do, file a police report for hit and run. Make them pay legally and financially!!!

That does stink man, I am sure someone there knows who else was there that day. In Florida this happens all the time because most people don't even know they did it.

On a lighter note a Rolls Royce or Bentley(Can't remember which it was) cut me off going into a restaurant and seemed quite proud of his deed as well when he looked at me. When I left the restaurant I noticed the car was still there illegally parked of course. So I took out a piece of paper and wrote "Sorry about your car it was an accident" and left it under his wiper. I always wondered how long he looked around his car trying to find out what happened?

Now that is a great one. harmless way to push the others buttons when they displayed a smug attitude..
Now I have to log that away in my brain somehow..
Thx

Excellent idea. I will now carry a writing pad and pen in my glove box for the next time some dim whit does something stupid. While leaving a note on their windshield saying "sorry about the accident" is a mite 8) passive/aggressive, it has a certain diabolical charm to my mind.

Great news
My mechanic's friend was just happing to be playing golf :)
Seen the accident and watch him drive off, got his plate number
I went to the police and reported it,police check out the plate number and called the owner of a red Chevy pickup
Police told me that when the owner calls him back then he will call me and then we can go from there
I do know where that guy lives :)

Unless they're willing to return the car back to its original condition, press charges for hit and run and sue them for $19,000, then buy my Spider for $9,000 and pocket the $10,000 difference. :) I hope you get this worked out quickly.

I would have expected a slightly higher estimate. Good to hear that you're getting it taken care of.

So what does the car you bought from the guy in Lincoln, CA, look like now? You've been putting a ton of work into it. Post pix!

Got to figure out why the negative on the alignment before I do any more
