I travel for work and I was in California on the 580 in San Rafael, heading toward the Richmond bridge (just West of San Quentin) on Thursday afternoon (7-11-13).
There was a 3-car in-line accident with the Fiat in the middle, sandwiched pretty badly looking like an accordion.
I had to take the obligatory glance as I drove by, and the driver of the Spider did not look good at all (maybe deceased)(?).
The car was black or very, very dark blue.
I hope it isn't one of our forum friends.
Guys, be careful out there.
Our cars do not fare well in crashes.
I drive mine as if I were on a motorcycle, planning my every move far in advance -- whether it is braking, accelerating, shifting, whatever.
Dave

Hi Dave,
Had a bad accident last year. 1980 was crushed. Bummer. Hope the other driver in your case was ok.

Yeesh - hope everyone was ok!
This is exactly why I installed an LED 3rd brake light, amber turn signal lenses, and a roll bar with custom mounted 3 point seat belts. Visibility is such a key factor! Most people don't even see our cars.
I know these won't do much in a worst-case senario, but my hope is to minimize any issues. Every little bit helps, right?
