Not if you know what you are doing.... I have Non Fiat 81mm pistons in a 1438 which is bored and stroked to 1650

Probably the most important thing is 'what are you trying to accomplish'... Some very basic technical info might be pin diameters, dome / crown height, and skirt length. It is certainly much simpler to have a custom piston made than to find a piston which 'may fit'fiat218 wrote:What is there to know...

If you are looking to maximize power, then definitely go with the 2.0L That engine is 25% larger than an 1608, and the same mods on it that you plan for the 1608 will produce far more power. Size does matter.
