Hi Dave,
What do you need done? The forum members here can give you help do just about anything you might need. In my case I couldn't find anyone in my area who would even look at my car's fuel injection issues so I studied the system, got tons of help here and now can take 2000 mile trips and not worry.
I don't know anyone in your area, but Mark, the moderator, has a shop in Upland. He's about as good as you're likely to find.

I haven't used them, but another member has used Santos Italian Car Service in Northridge. If you need machine work, I have used Mark DeGroff also in Northridge with good results.

Re: Looking for a Mechanic in the LA area
Thanx guys, it's been sitting in my garage since '97, now I'd like to get it back on the road. It's obviously going to be quite a project. I didn't even have the keys, so I've just had a locksmith make an ignition key, ordered tires, now seeing if the battery will hold a charge. That's as far as I've got, any advice greatly appreciated.
Re: Looking for a Mechanic in the LA area
if the battery is of 1997 vintage, don't waste electricity trying to charge it. Get a new one, but before attempting to turn it over with the starter, I'd prep the engine and get fresh fuel in it

Re: Looking for a Mechanic in the LA area
Ok, so I installed a new battery, put a few gallons of gas in it and tried to start it, the engine tried to turn but now all I hear is the starter clicking. I tried whacking the starter motor a few times but still no luck, as the car has 4 flat tires I can't try rocking it. Not sure what "prepping the engine" means The battery is till fully charged, whats my next step?

I would remove the spark plugs and add some auto trans fluid to each cylinder, then let it sit overnight. Turn the engine by hand, not with starter, to see if it's seized
