Leather Seat Repair
I picked up a pair of 1993 RX7 leather seats for nothing that I was thinking of putting in my 85. The only issue is a quarter size hole on the back of the drivers seat. Anyone had any luck with those leather repair kits? I was thinking of maybe giving that a try before I took it somewhere to get an estimate.

Re: Leather Seat Repair
Post a pic. Is it really a hole, as in, "leather missing from where it once was," or is it a small tear that opened up as the leather stretched out?
Get a small scrap of leather to glue to the backside of the seat leather, behind the hole. Glue the leather backside to backside (rough face to rough face). If you need to patch in a patch of leather to match, glue it in to the backing piece,
There are a couple of companies that do leather crack repair stuff. Leatherique is one of them. With that type of product, you then have to re-dye the area, and often the whole seat, to blend in the crack filler. Look through the DIY area of Leatherique's site. Good info there.

Re: Leather Seat Repair
FWIW, I had good luck repairing a rip (not really a hole) in my motorcycle seat using a repair kit, provided that you:
1) Read and follow the instructions carefully.
2) Take the time to match up the color the best you can. This is key !!! (seat was black so not difficult)
Kit provided several grain patterns to impress onto the area. You cannot tell it was repaired.
