Air box warped

Post by rjkoop »

The plastic box that the air filter fits into was warped wider in the middle than at the ends. So the middle of the filter sometimes falls down and air can get in without going through the filter. I'm thinking this might help.

I was going to leave it for a day or two and see if it keeps it's shape. Or do I need to heat it to get it to stay?

I can send you mine if you want. I went with the K & N filter.

Chris,
Thanks for the offer. I'll check the shape of the air filter box in a day or 2 and let you know if I need it.

If you keep it, drill a few ~2" holes in it to increase the flow / lower the resistance. It actually makes a surprising difference in acceleration! Just watch where you put them to make sure the housing doesn't cover them or they don't expose the filter to splashes, etc.
