Getting Parts in or to Canada

Post by nothingbychance »

Any recommendations for a supplier? If there's a reliable one in Canada, I'd like to go with that, otherwise, any particular recommendations for the States? I get that Vick Auto and Autoricambi are both good peeps, but any comments on what shipping might add? Thanks.

I have & will always continue to recommend Auto Ricambi (they are the best) As far as how to get parts up here there are many options. I have found using USPS and marking packages as "antique auto parts" generally avoids custom fees. Using UPS or FEDEX etc will have you not only paying custom fees you will also have brokerage fees  Some have had items delivered to the closest UPS store in the US then just cross border to pick up. Some local places will have parts or compatible parts for our cars like Canadian Tire, Part Source, Napa etc. Happy hunting

I concur...insist on US postal service (USPS) if you can. Far cheaper ands quicker.

Ive bought parts from spiderroadster.com before, they are out of Texas and I have had no issues with them.

Ital Motors in Edmonton.

AutoRicambi is awesome, as is Mark from Allison's Automotive. Both are top suppliers, with excellent service as well.

If you are rich or all the other vendors are out... International Auto.
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you, people. Looks like I'll ask AR for a quote. They're waiting for it. :-) And the USPS recommendation is really helpful. I'm assuming AR knows to do that.
