Seat belt bolt size?

Post by IndyFiat »

Can anyone tell me the size of the bolts that go into the hump holes where the latch part of the seat belt bolts in between the seats? The hardware I received does not fit that area. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

New to Fiats, but should be 7/16" SAE fine thread, if it is like every car I've come across, regardless of origin or age. Pretty much the only reliably non-metric bolt on otherwise metric cars, not sure why it is the standard, but it is.

Yep, I don't know if it still holds true, but the US DOT mandated that seat belts had a 7/16 bolt, even in an imported car. I was pretty confused when I was looking for seat belt bolts and no metric ones fit!

Got my seat belts installed! Major hassle getting the bolts to fit for some reason. Spent way too much time getting to thread correctly. But alas, they're done. Thanks for the recommend from this group. Got lap belts for $50.
