Hagerty Car Insurance

Post by 4uall »

Just renewed my insurance for Fiona and within 5min and an email of my upgrades/photos our "agreed value" went up $5000 yet my annual cost only went up $40 ($220). They are a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend them any day

I just shopped insurance in the last 120 days. Hagerty was one of the most expensive on the block at $360+. I went with Grundy. $213, no deductable, $15k value.

Kind of make you wonder how they assess the rates? I have Hagerty at an agreed value of $9k and only runs me about $125 a year. And that is after some misguided "youts" took the car and beat it up back in '09. There was no hassle at all and just sent me the check. I should probably increase the value on it now that it's "purdy" and all.

I'm thinking Hagerty keeps their existing customers low so they wont price shop and sock it to us new guys to make up the difference. Most of these companies have on-line quotes. I changed the value and deductable and it made almost no difference in the cost. (maybe $10).

All car insurance companies vary according to state/location. Living in Rhode Island the rates are higher for the same car/driver/risk pool than they are for example in Ohio. A lot of factors are involved.

No special plates required. I had mine insured through Grundy, but I'm now with Hagerty; either one is good IMHO.

Hagerty as well. 12k, unlimited miles, $224 and yes I needed/have a garage. Also added the premium tow package just in case, cause I like longer drives than just around town
