Major problem

The nut for the steering wheel is striped and can't come off. Any ideas how to cut it or any other ways, I have tried grabbing it and pullingp with a plier hoping it catch a tread, no way ,
So mybe some one can help

my concern would be whether the threads on the column were stripped and not just the nut. you could take a small rotary file and dremel one of the edges to nothing, then split it with a cold chisel. It may be easier to split the nut with a cold chisel before grinding, so you have some meat to work with. An air chisel would make short work of it.

I think the spline is ok, it just the treads on the shaft ,I'm sure there are shot and can be retreaded! I hope

I actually have a socket somewhere in my box just for this problem. It's got small stainless , spring loaded pins that grab the nut while the others push up inside the socket. I don't often need it but it works well when I do. You may want to look for one. I believe mine is a craftsman. Good luck.

Thanks, I took it over to a guy that does my work. He will get it off
