Can someone tell me how the fuel filler flap is supposed to stay attached?
There is a hole I can just reach from inside the trunk that I'm guessing allows a pin to hold the flap on.
For now, I've got a bit of coat hanger fed through, but the flap rattles around pretty badly.
Not sure what I need to make this stay put.

there are 2 identical pin that go in that hole from each side. there is supposed to be some type of sleeve to make it stay put. If the pin or sleeve are worn, this just work themselves out. I used a long screw on each side and siliconed the heads so they cant go anywhere.

I don't know the year model of your car but on my 78 it looks like this.
You can see the spring that holds the lid up. As far as a pin, there is a cup like contraction that would have to come off to get to any pin. I was not gonna disassemble to get a look at the pin. Sorry
I know I wasn't much help but I tried.
After further review , I see yours is totally different from mine. Disregard post.

Actually, I think that's exactly the same as mine- good to see how it should look once I've got it back in there correctly.I know I wasn't much help but I tried.

Thanks, good to know about the hole on the other other side also. I will give something like this a shot.azruss wrote:I used a long screw on each side and siliconed the heads so they cant go anywhere.
