Just had my first read of the Forum since Dec 2012, I have been treated for colon cancer and am now on the mend. I had a joyous ride in my Spider in December and believe that beautiful ride around the semi mountain roads of my area reduced my tumour by half. These cars are fabulous. Mine is 1978 body with a non poluted 82 2ltr with twin downdrafts.
This is a pretty quick little car and I have driven MGs, Triumph Stag, Healys, etc over the years and the Spider is hard to beat. I have had FIAT 850,124, 125, 125S, 125T and a 130...I worked for Fiat in New Zealand for many years and remember the heralded arrival of the new 130 sedan, which was tested against the equivalent Benz of the day. The 130 won in all areas. I have toured the factory in Turin where we received a VIP tour. So I am a dyed in the wool Fiat man and this forum is a joy. As a Newsagent (magazines etc) i continually scan the new arrivals to see if there are any features on the Spider, I don't know why the hell not but endless features on every form of sportcar except the spider...so if anyone finds a mag that carries a Spider feature, please post on the site.
Keep up the good work every one, I am gonna learn to post pic of my wheels soon, This is really just a ramble and is'nt much interest to anyone, but I just wanted be here...
Nice to be back

Re: Nice to be back
Hey exit, thanks for the kind words, originally borne in the far south of New Zealand, left on a world tour in Feb 1970, but arrived in the US march and secured employment at the Aussie Embassy and stayed 15 years. Whata time I had in your country as a car nut. Here I was in the middle of muscle car heaven. My first car was a VW...then a 1973 351 Mach 1and I owned just about everything that is now legendary... WoW was I in seventh heaven, at 64 now I still register the best days of my life living in the US, out in the berbs.
I have a very talented 21 yo daughter who wanted to go see net friends in Santa Monica. She asked me what were American people like ? She had the usual feel through movies, media etc. After the first year she told me that I was right. She had been invited into homes, taken to the baseball game, given stuff etc. The nicest people she had ever met, she is widely travelled. Got work with Sound Dogs (Rob Noaks) as a gopher basically, but did some post production work on Costener's 'The Hatfield and McCoys' they looked after royally, as I knew they would. They want her back...she is studying Digital multi media. She met Brian Dannely (a director) who placed her in Gloria Griffith acting school at his own expense..she rang one day to tell me she had a new friend called Lucy Walsh and I might know her dad as he played in bands (as i did) his name was Joe Walsh !!!!! anyway she has had a lifetime of memories already....don't knock USA in her presence !!
I plan to return before I quit this mortal coil.
