My official service manual does not specify that the car must be weighted before being aligned? What manual do you have? On what page is the requirement to laden the car? Oops, yes it does. The information is on a page different from the page with other alignment information.v6spider wrote:real close... is that laden or unladen?... the fiat service manual calls for the car to have the average weight of 2 persons with an additional 130 lbs to act as luggage weight!

Re: ALIGNMENT
when I got my alignment done recently, the guys at the shop (older guys from Italy who specialize in Fiats etc) indicated that in all their years of doing alignments they have never put 2 people and 130 lbs of luggage in any car. They always use the natural weight of the car. Take what you want from it.

Re: ALIGNMENT
My service manual states the following ...
"Do not fully tighten reaction rod mounting hardware until suspension is completely installed and vehicle is on ground or drive-on lift, and is laden to equivalent of two persons plus 130 lb. (59 kg) of luggage. This is to prevent rubber bushings from being over stressed. Refer to torque specifications at beginning of this section."
(Rear Suspension 443.05 Page 44-21/22).
