tail light lens gasket
tail light lens gasket
I was inquiring about gasket material and was told about McMaster p/n 86205K12 and was woundering what it is as no-one up here seems to know about it. I understand that it is a sheet of gasket material but would like to know what material and thickness. Thanks for any help.

You try just the thin foam you can get at any hardware store? You can buy the replacement gaskets at AR. I have not used seen or use the other. Perhaps someone here that has bought some has left overs. Ask Bernie.

Tried Autoricambi but they are on back order that was why I was looking for a substitute. Thanks for the suggestion as I found other parts I will be needing on that site.

Re: tail light lens gasket
I actually ordered the EVA foam from McMaster (86095K41) and cut gaskets from it. I seem to recall liking the specs of the EVA material better. However, it turns out that EVA foam is available at your local craft/hobby supply store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. It's really cheap, something like 99 cents a sheet. This stuff seems to work okay, but only time will tell (like a few years). I'm not sure it really matters exactly what material we use here.
