I parked a car one week after a 3 year restoration in a ramp and some body pushed a dent in my fender by checking my shocks. A week later I parked it on a parking lot in the Netherlands. A lot that could fit 100 cars and had only 4parked cars on it. I parked it right in the middle and came back to a dent in the door from a car that was parked very, very close. You are never, ever save! One reason why I enjoy my rusty daily driver so much more than the fully remodeled car back than. 8)

Yeah, but parking under a light standard gives pigeons the advantage. :D

I have to agree with Tobi... "You are never, ever safe!" I typically park away from anyone else as much as possible and almost always come back to find someone parked next to me. On occasion it may be another sports car (which I don't mind) but in my part of the world its typically a yahoo in an oversized SUV.

I parked my Honda similarly at church last Sunday. I came out to find an SUV parked right next to my car and a massive door dent in the rear fender along with some of the SUV's white paint. At least you're trying!!! I can't fault you for that. :)

I have on almost as good I work at Ford but can not park in the ford parking area. have to walk a quarter mile to the gate to get in the plant and another 1/8 mile to my job but don't mind a bit for the same reasons total walking for a day going out to lunch and back than home 1 1/2 miles think of all the exercise I get 5 to 6 days a week :D

Aren't you afraid of birds perching on the light pole and crapping on your car, or heaven forbid, the whole pole toppling over and crushing your baby? That's how neurotic I will be when my car is back on the road!

At my previous job, I parked in the far corner spot, the spot furthest from the building. Nobody parked within 15 spaces from me, and similar to Tony, I enjoyed the walk to the building. However, it made me very visible, EVERYONE knew where I parked, and if I was running a few minutes late, or trying to leave early - there was NO hiding it!

How do you stay focused at work with that lovely view? You must jingle the keys in your pocket all day...

My into to Fiats came from a fellow classmate with an Abarth double bubble and mono1000. He did a full restore on the Mono and moved to the bay area where he drove it to work. On the way he witnessed two on his fellow travelers nudging sheet metal and never bothered to stop. Serious freak-out and the Mono gets parked and he drives his Corvair to work. So, you are never safe. I usually try to find a couple of super clean cars parked diagonal in the parking spots in the back 40 and park between them.
