Hood Pins, What do you think?

Post by jclarkey »

Had these sitting around in the garage and thought I would see what they looked like on the Spider. I kinda like it, what do you think?

I like it, and if they can be set so the bouncy hood fit is resolved, all the better!!

The abarth cars used rubber hold downs on the hood and trunk, some of the vendors carry them: http://flipacars.com/Fiat/Fiat-124-Spid ... to-gallery

I guess the multitudes of pictures I have seen of abarth cars, are replicas, and not true ones at that.

Same holds true for women in magazines.

I like it as well. Think I will do that as well. Never liked the ideal if the cable lock as well.

Had to do that out of necessity on my first v6 conversion spider because the latch had to be removed along with part of the firewall to make room for the distributor on the 4.3l v6. The new spider I am building will be using a lower profile vortec style distributor where I won't have to cut into the firewall... Still might do the hood pins though... 8)

The hood bounces around due to lack of engine bay weatherstripping or lack of hood pads. If your door seals are on their way out you can usually get enough good material out of one side of the old door weatherstripping to do one side of the engine bay.

Also I just listed these items in the for sale section which may be of interest to some: http://fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=22977
