becuase you are replacing the whole thing my "tip" would be using the old cable as a pull string where things get tight ... was a pretty easy job to do.... you are going to have to get under the car ... and you have to access the rear of the speedometer ....it comes thru the firewall just below the brake reservior sp? ... just trace the old one.... i found it was easier to attach under the car first then the speedo.... cant remember if i lubed it or not.... my car is an 81 with manual tranny... yours may differ and others wiser than myself will chime in

any of the standard vendors have speedo cables. It goes between the back of the speedo to a drive off the drivers side of the tranny. Usually it is the cable that breaks and not the sheath. sometimes you get lucky and the break is at the tranny end and you can just replace the cable. If not, there is a difference in the speedo end depending on the year. This means pulling the instrument panel to do it all. that is not a fun job unless you have long skinny fingers.
