EZ Cool

Post by rjkoop »

Looks like EZ Cool is the way to go for lining the floors. I'm in Canada so I was thinking about using these guys.

http://ezcool.ca/

Other option is that I order off of ebay...

And ship to Ogdensburg to avoid any duty costs. Or are there other options?

This is the stuff I used, great price, easy to apply, and no more heat in the cabin.

A couple of years ago for the winter projets, I had obtained some heat/sound insulation from a boat manufacturing place that went out of business. This is the stuff that lined the inside of the engine box in the middle of the ski/wake board boats. Silver heat reflection one side and dense foam on the other.
It has worked for me to date

I used it for my Spider, one roll covered almost the whole car, but about half of the back seat area. Great stuff and very easy to use.

I just put it in my Spider this Winter and it is excellent. Very thin and light and really cuts heat and noise. Easy to install. I doubled it up over the CatCon.

Just finished my EZ Cool install this weekend!!! Someone said easy but tedious... I would agree. Maybe it was Pete that said that awhile back. But anyway, between the beer and the adhesive fumes it's a wonder I was able to finish at all..., but I plowed through.

That is a really good job. Yes very tedious. I didn't deal with it under the bundle of wires/gas lines on the left wall like you did. Bravo.

Wow... Great job. Was 1 4'x10' roll enough? Also should I do the back area as well or not worth it for road noise?

Yes, I used 1 4x10 roll and had a little left, maybe 3x2 if that. Not enough to do under the rear seat. So if you're planning to do that you may need more. I figure the seat pretty much takes care of that area. I guess Fiat thought so too since there was no jute under there to begin with.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

That's a good Idea. There should be enough left to that for sure.
