Hi, 3 weeks ago I bought a 1977 Spider CS that has recently been imported from California to the UK. The problem is there are no headrests on the seats and strangely no holes in the vinyl for them either! This is a mystery as I thought all Spiders came with headrests. However, I can feel the headrest grommets in the seat below the vinyl. By the way, the seat covers certainly look old enough to be the original ones!
The big question is does anyone know where I can source replacement headrests? I've searched all the usual sites with no luck.
The reason I want headrests, apart from making my car complete, is so that I can install 3-point seatbelts (replacing the not so good 2-point ones!) and route them via seat belt supports attached to the headrests.
Finally, can anyone explain why my car does not have headrests - or the holes in the vinyl for them?

Sounds like the seats were recovered at some point in the past, and the PO just had the headrests removed for some odd reason. (Maybe to make the car look older?) I bet you can find someone here who has a headrest set that could be recovered to match the existing seats!

Hi Rroller123, that's the conclusion I came to but I was unsure as the seat covers look so old. But I guess all Spiders should have had head rests so someone must have recovered the seats sometime.
