I must admit your CSI skills are good, I'm certain there is not a dent like that. However I do know there were some imperfections in the body work. When I repaint it, hopefully I can do a better job :D l did learn an important lesson on that paint job. Don't use cheap paint from Auto zone, it do sent last long at all.

The paint just did not hold a good gloss. It would be cool to have you swing by and check out my spider. I have a question for everyone, I just got my spider running this week after a major overhaul on the engine. Did a compression check and three of the cylinders are 150 or better. Cylinder number 4 is 120, I suspect a valve opening too soon. Any thoughts?

Hey Bob, I got your messages from Reggie about the parts car. Not sure if there is anything of use for you but can check. Had to pull the head off mine, well probably didn't have to but now I know what size engine I got. You going to be around tomorrow I may swing by if I don't go to LA area to pick up some Mustang parts.

As far as you compression go it is not that low that you may worry about. It could be as simple as your gage wasn't sealing good. Also could be weak rings that may seal up better once running for awhile or a valve that is not seating, possible start to burn. Unless you have a nightmare issue like my pulley on the cam and all your marks are lined up you should be ok timing wise. You can squirt some oil down the sparkplug of the low cylinder and see if psi increases. If so the its a weak ring problem. If not then probably a valve. I have an air fitting I use with both valves close and I put air in that cylinder and listen for leak from intake or exhaust side. Good thing is I stripped my head off in less than an hour today.

I doubt its rings, only because they are new, the valves were reground by a machine shop. Maybe after a break in period every thing will tighten up. :D

Bob Im sorry I didn't go back and refresh your build and see you did got through the motor. I wouldn't worry about it till you get at least 500 miles on her.

Well a little update, I lowered the car, installed a 2.25 inch exhaust with a turbo mufler installed the re-covered seats, the coloring worked but the stiching was just too old and was coming apart. Took it for a test drive and she seems to have some serious torqe! here are some picuters ImageImageImageImage If you want to hear how she sounds now here is the link to the videohttp://s1170.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... 2.mp4.html

Well Update to my Resto. I have it on the road and been driving it almost daily. Still working out some kinks but overall the engine is extremly responsive and seems to have alot more torqe. I did make a custom Air Box Image, I drilled a 3 inch hole towards the fender where the old air box was, so its drawing cold air from outside the engine bay. here is a look inside Image. I also recovered the dash and made my own dash panels.ImageImage I'm working on new door panels as well. I'm sure SLOSpider will see my mistakes  By the way the Air Box is a prototype, I intend on improving it a bit and when I do I will have full paterns for anyone else who wants to try it out.

looking good Bob.

Mistakes are only in the eye of the beholder :D I don't call them mistakes but opportunity for improvements :D I am wondering it having that air flow meter on its side is a good thing? Never saw one mounted like that so not sure if it will affect the door inside or not.

Do sent seem to affect it at all. I am planning on some more mods to the air box, kind of a semi ram air.

The weight of the door comes into play with the AFM on its side, and the range of its swing would likely be restricted, as the torque on the door from its weight would be tending to close the door. I would expect that the door swings fine, assuming no rubbing problems, but doesn't swing all the way out to its full extent under open throttle/high rpms.
