I've always wanted an early Ghia, I think the body is beautiful. "The poor man's Porsche" There are a lot of them here on the islands, VW bugs, buses, things, ghias, wagons, etc are still the rage as beach cruisers. Which also means Weber carbs are plentiful on Craigslist.

In Germany they have always been called "Fraeuleinporsche" and Fraeulein translates to "young unmarried woman".

I'm sure the following for Ghias is huge with several/many more aftermarket parts sources available compred to our Fiats. You may be able to find a new fender cheaper than an original. Alternatively there are sites that will let you search several craigslist locations at once, or the entire country.

if you do find a good deal on a specific part here on Oahu, i'll be happy to check it out and send it. I got a set of dual 40 IDF's that could go on it.

I had a '70 vert Ghia I refurbished. The Ghias were built by Karmann and paint was used sparingly, particularly inside the body parts. You may like this well-travelled VW site: thesamba.com
