Spring clearance

I just completed my drivers side rebuild ...1972 124 . It looks like the spring is going to hang up on the upper a arm? Would this be normal..I don't remember the original alignment. Also after install 2 new ball joints how easy should the spindle move back and forth ? Seems a little resistive... my first time around so plenty of " what abouts " any conversation or help post them up. This site is awesome
