You have a fun first car!
The more you get your hands dirty, the more you will like the car. It is part of the pride of ownership. Don't let your Uncle have all the fun :D

This is a great resource,,,,,as I am finding out. I just re-built my front end. The information available here made the job much easier.

Let's see it :!:

Hey, Harley - you're starting young and you're going to learn a lot about auto mechanics and electrical systems - albeit on a somewhat dated technological platform. Good luck, and have fun!!

Hello and welcome!

You've made an excellent choice! ;-)

There probably isn't a thing you're going to need or do that someone here hasn't seen or done, so do a quick search first but ask just as quickly.

Every Spider reborn is that much more joy on the roads.

Ciao,
Mark

Fun car to work on! In 2008, when I was 20 I bought my Fiat, my first car! Learned a lot about auto mechanics from taking it apart and replacing parts.
Have fun and goodluck with your project!

Congratulations on your purchase. I also have a 78 and know what you are looking for. You can get the part you are looking for from Midwest Bayless. Just Google, go to the "fuel and air" section, click on "fuel pumps - filters - lines" and you will see what you are looking for, 4th item down. They are $25.99 and is the exact part you are looking for.
Good luck.
