Yep, I had the same thing and inserted a little o ring from Auto Ricambi that solved the issue. The speedo cable is also one of those little areas that I check when i do an oil change. For some reason on my car the cable will back off the thread a little very few thousand miles. Try truning/tightening the metal attachment on the cable to see if that fixes the issue.

Well I think you have your answer. The gasket between the shift extension and the rear housing. Even though your last two pictures are upside down, you can clearly see the gasket is squeezed out and needs to be replaced. Also, based on your other pics, it is leaking from both sides, so not the speedo and I don't think it is the plug. Your gonna need to pull the trans....and while you're at it..........

If it is the gasket between the shift extension and the transmission you may not need to completely remove the transmission. Many of the following steps need to be done anyway if you are removing the transmission, so you can try it before complete removal

If you remove the tunnel console there is an access plate bolted to the top of the tunnel over the shift extension. Once you remove the drive shaft and unbolt the transmission mount at the back of the transmission, you can tilt the engine/transmission downward a significant amount. This should give easy access to the four bolts holding the shift extension to the transmission. Hopefully it also will be enough clearance to allow you to lift the shifter clear of its internal connection. Remove the four bolts. The shifter assembly will then need to be pushed forward about 1" to disconnect and then it can be lifted out.

I have not done this before, but it looks doable. The only question is whether tilting the transmission down will get enough clearance to get the shift extension out.
