How many members here in Ohio
I wouldn't mind finding someone near by that knows these cars. It's always nice to have someone to talk to with a common interest. I'm in Plymouth (44865 - near mansfield). Also while i'm at it, does anyone here in ohio have a parts car with a good floor?

Juvius,
I live in Newark, almost two hours south of you on route 13. I have some knowledge of these cars, but it's been 20 years since my last Fiat. I recently acquired a 1973 spider, but have virtually no "stash" of parts.

Re: How many members here in Ohio
Hello guys, nice to meet you.
JEEPER, I get out to sandusky relatively often. Here where I live, to actually do anything, we have to go to either mansfield or sandusky.
hayesbd. I'm familiar with Newark. I was actually there about three weeks ago picking up a few BMW parts I found on craigslist. Was trying to get my dad's BMW 318IS running.

Re: How many members here in Ohio
J,
I'm in Cincinnati. Occasionally I go junkyarding for other cars I have, but haven't found a spider.
My guess is any spider that has been in a junk yard for very long has got a bad top allowing water to rot out the floors you need. On the other hand, if you go to your local junk yard, they have a two-way radio they use like we use the internet. They can get on it and ask all yards around if anyone has a spider with good floors.
I would keep an eye on craigslist as there is the occasional marginal spider with no-title for sale, cheap.
or you could buy something like this:
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/3664378285.html
and swap out parts from your car (if he's telling the truth).
What year do you have? Will any year fit?

Re: How many members here in Ohio
I also bought parts from a guy, locally, who had a '75 with no title. He said he would strip the car then cut up to junk. don't know if he still has it.
Check the archives for differences in the chassis. I'm guessing they are all the same.

Re: How many members here in Ohio
Not trying to dig up an old thread, but the search function lead me here. I am not far from ya in Marion. I am very familiar with Mansfield and have even been to Plymouth once or twice. I dont know much about these cars nor do i have parts, but we may run into each other down the road some time =)juvius wrote:I wouldn't mind finding someone near by that knows these cars.
