Computer issues again, wireless.

Post by spiderrey »

Ive had my computers wirelessly hooked up before. I cant seem to get this Asus computer to go wireless though. Im useing a Belkin router. My wireless printer works fine. My Ipad and any laptop that comes in the house hook up with no issues. Even the x box hooks up. I have two wireless cards, A d link and a net gear card. They both work with out issues in my other towers. What am I missing. I would like to relocate this tower, but cant till I get past this problem.

Check your windows settings and any software specific settings if there is a control panel other than the windows one for controlling the card. As well try the wireless/bluetooth icon on the lower right as it may have just been disabled

you can disable to see if that makes a difference, if it does, go into the settings and allow your router

What version of windows are you using?
I'll go on assuming windows 7, and I believe this is correct for at least vista and possibly xp

open Control Panel, then click Network and Internet, then click Network and Sharing Center, then on the left side of the window look for Change adapter settings, click that. Look for the one that says something along the lines of Wireless Network Connection. Right click that and if there's an 'Enable' as the first option. Click that. If the first option is 'Disable' then it's already enabled and we can try something else.

report back with what you find.
