Hello All, I got my car running a while ago and I have noticed that when I try to restart the car after turning the car off its like trying to start it when its cold. I have a 1970 that has had the carb upgraded to the EMPI 32/36 DFEV Carburetor, at least it looks like the one Mark sales. When I go to start it for the first time it takes a bit to get it running, but when its running it runs great, just hard to start after I turn the off the car and try to restart it. Any suggestions as to what it could be? Also I have had it die at a stoplight and it is hard to get it restarted. I do not have a lot of mechanical experience so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Here is pictures of my carb.

Re: Hard to restart after turning car off
I had the same problem a while ago. In my case the carb was leaking fuel into the carb causing flooding. You could see it dripping down inside after I shut the engine off. It would take a lot of cranking to get it to start. I had the carb rebuilt and no longer have that problem.
